What do these numbers mean?

Alcohol by volume. Basically, ABV is a common measure used by many around the world to let you know the percentage of booze in the drink.

International bitterness units. We use this to help you gauge the bitterness of the beer. In simple terms, the higher the IBU, the more bitter the beer. But how to relate this to your favourite style of beer? Well, lagers have an IBU of around 10, IPAs have an IBU of 50, whilst some bitters have an IBU of over 100. Use this as a guideline to work out what level of bitterness is right for you.

European beer convention. This scale is used to determine the colour of the beer. For example, 5 would be a very pale beer such as a lager, whereas 60 would represent your darker beers, such as a stout. This has nothing to do with clarity – Brewers use it simply as a way to describe or present their beers.
